don’t ever let anyone tell you that I don’t love talking shit.
oh I do.
In fact, one of the masters of talking shit on the planet, Gary Payton, spoke on Monday at the courthouse rally to Save the Sonics. They are being moved to Oklahoma and we can’t be having that. Anyway, back to shit talking.
While I get the shit talking that went down with the Hillary – Obama race. It’s time to pay proper respects.
Lot’s of people were done with that girl, saying she was going overboard. She referenced Robert Kennedy’s assasination when we are all terrified of the possibility of Barack firing up the racist elements of Amerikkka. Hillary played the race card, she played victim womenhood, she played the fearless leader with a white lie about going into Bosnia under fire., and she rolled with the Jerimiah scary black preacher thing.
And all the while, she maintained a fight that was mathematically impossible– unless the masses of super delegates changed their minds
Changed their minds? Huh?
Can they do that?
This entire democratic race for the president did keep one wondering how the rules worked. What in the world were Michigan and Florida thinking when they decided to cast away threats that their votes would go uncounted?
So we got super delegates who determined the race and we got two states that didn’t count. But we also have rules that were set up from the beginning.
The fact is, Barack pulled an unbelievable upset. One that the inevitable candidate could never quite recover from. Her campaign was set to battle a party bound to lose in November 2009.
Hillary’s biggest mistake was trusting the inner circle that she was inevitable.
I don’t blame her for the so called nasty politics that she played. I think she is right that we should be prepared for all the crap the Republican party is prone to heap through “unconnected” wings of the right.
Hillary busted her ass. She hustled and tried to make plays.
She really did shatter all kinds of conventional glass boxes. People might say it shouldn’t matter that she is a woman. But it does.
We yearn for simple stories, especially when they are true: It is now possible that a Woman and an American-American can be legitimate contenders for President.
Big ups to Hillary. I’m stoked she played hard all the way. I’m stoked we have had the most inspiring pool of Democratic candidates that I have ever felt such strong affinity with.
So, Thank you Hillary, Much Love and Respect, thanks for making herstory.
Check it out,
Gabe
