Obama picks Biden as VP on ticket

August 23, 2008

I just got an email from ONE.org, an organization dedicated to iradicating poverty, that Barack Obama has chosen Joseph Biden to be his running mate. So much for the text message I signed up with to get the news first.

From the email:

The news today is going to be all about Senator Joe Biden, Barack Obama’s choice for Vice President. You can make this political moment a poverty-fighting moment by talking to Joe Biden right now, before he gets swept-up in a blur of coast-to-coast campaigning and the crush of endless media attention

We knew it wouldn’t be Hillary Clinton. And the other potential running mates were white men. Not that it matters, except to naggingly remind us, that yes, the fact that Hillary was that close to the nomination was a big deal, but it was groundbreaking because she is a woman.

Happy Holidays

July 4, 2008

Well, my computer is on the fritz and needs to go into the shop, but with the fourth of July and everything, I may be offline for some time.

Anway, would love to hear your thoughts on Hillary these days. Does anyone think she would have made the same  moves towards the center that Obama has seemingly made recently?
